“Touching is seeing; Seeing is touching.” For the visually impaired, to read is to touch the embossed dots on a solid matter. This is one of our goals, to provide braille to read and tactile to illustrate images and designs. Reading is the literacy measurement for the blind. It is one method to learn pathways to communicate, dissect instruction, and demonstrate imagination, which serve to empower visually impaired individuals and their communities
EVR Braille Services accepts a wide variety of print materials -- whether it is for personal use, such as school instructional materials or for professional use, such as legal documents, statements, HIPAA-protected or medical documents. We also provide tutoring services for those who would like to learn braille and to get certified by the Library of Congress through National Federation for the Blind (http://ww.nfb.edu).
EVR Braille Services observes a friendly environment. We will always accommodate orders, requests, and needs as far as we can provide with attention and consideration. Transcribing cost will depend on how complicated the lay out of the information and set-up of the material. We welcome Electronic Text files, Electronic Braille files, print books and documents, images and graphic designs. Some material may be charged per hour, and others may be charged per braille page. Separate costing is outlined for graphics, tables, charts, and tactile lines and drawings. We will customize upon request preferred order if bound or unbound, paper size, type of covers and colors , and shipping.
All transcribers and proofreaders are certified by the Library of Congress. We attend conferences and follow continuing education to bring up-to-date with the changes in the Braille Codes and Braille format.
